Job description

About Us

Ediphi offers the most comprehensive cloud-based estimating and preconstruction solution on the market. Our goal is to reduce the time spent in preconstruction, enabling projects to break ground more quickly and estimators to feel more confident in their work.

We started when Michael Navarro, an estimating pro at Suffolk, knew there was a better way than relying on spreadsheet nightmares. He began creating a solution built by estimators, for estimators. He teamed up with Dustin DeVan, founder of BuildingConnected (acquired by Autodesk for $275 million), to launch Ediphi in 2023. With a $12M Series A round led by Norwest Venture Partners and with ongoing participation from Suffolk Technologies, Ediphi continues to grow as a SaaS offering for General Contractors around the country.

About This Role

The role

We’re looking for an Engineering Lead to manage one of our feature teams. We work in a Trifecta model, meaning you’ll partner closely with a Product Manager and Designer to shape the team’s roadmap, empower engineers to grow, and ensure we ship high-quality software that solves real problems for our customers.

At Ediphi, we’re building diverse teams from all backgrounds who share similar values to ours. If you don’t feel you check all the experiences and qualifications we’re looking for, we still encourage you to apply!

What you’ll do

  • Directly lead and mentor a group of 2–4 engineers. This includes regular 1:1s and helping to facilitate a (very lightweight) twice-a-year 360 review cycle.

  • Collaborate closely with your Product Manager and Designer partners. At Ediphi, Engineering is involved early: helping to shape our understanding of customer problems, co-crafting solutions, and then driving execution.

  • Foster technical excellence. Partner with engineers to drive smart technical decisions while keeping speed, scalability, and quality in balance.

  • Be hands-on. Whether reviewing code, contributing to architecture, or helping remove roadblocks, you’ll lead by example.

  • Work in a distributed, remote environment. We use tools like Slack, Notion, and Loom for async collaboration, and typically have team meetings between 8-11 PT.

What we’re looking for

  • Prior experience leading. This could be as a technical lead rather than a engineering manager, but either way: you should enjoy helping others to grow.

  • Customer-centric mindset. You don’t just focus on how to implement things, you also enjoy discussing and deeply understanding the “why”.

  • Collaborative working style. You enjoy working closely across disciplines to find creative solutions to problems together.

  • Strong communication skills. You ask clarifying questions, work to make sure every voice is heard, and help shepherd discussions toward concrete conclusions.

  • Pragmatic AI enthusiasm. You’re excited to help a team continuously improve how they use AI to not only ship things faster but also increase our understanding of our customers and our codebase.

  • Attention to quality and correctness. An inaccurate construction estimate can have severe impacts on a company’s financials, so it is extra important we keep quality in mind throughout the entire development process.

  • Proficiency in modern web tech. Preferably our stack: Node.js, React, TypeScript, and Postgres.

  • Bonus: you've worked in construction tech or fintech.

Why take on this role?

  • Real impact. Help shape the culture, direction, and success of a fast-moving startup.

  • Supportive leadership team. Work with experienced leaders who prioritize growth and well-being.

  • Competitive compensation, equity, and growth potential. Your contributions have an outsized impact, both professionally and financially.

  • Change an industry while improving how people work. See what our customers are saying.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and equity

  • Unlimited PTO (and we actually encourage you to use it)

  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance

  • 12 weeks of paid parental leave

  • A phenomenal, remote-first team that deeply cares about creating great products

Join us!

At Ediphi, our values are passion, integrity, curiosity, humility, and openness. If this sounds like a team you'd like to be part of, please submit your resume and cover letter detailing your relevant experience for this position. We're excited to hear from you!

Building a fantastic product requires building an amazing, diverse team. Diversity in life and perspective is the driver of creativity and innovation! Thus, we do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status. We invite candidates from all backgrounds to join our mission. At this time, we’re only hiring applicants located in the U.S. or Canada who do not require a visa sponsorship. Check back in the future, though, as we grow!
