Apply to this jobThe purpose of the class is to respond to emergency calls and provide medical assistance to the sick and injured at the EMT Basic level, and to perform related work as required. This class works according to set procedures under close supervision.
Requires high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by formal training, special courses or self-education that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of one year of college education or specialized advanced training in emergency medical technology or a closely related field.
Must possess a valid state driver’s license. Must complete required coursework and maintain EMT Intermediate, CPR, and any other certifications deemed necessary by department head. Requires a minimum of six (6) months of training or field experience.
