Our Global Legal team provides key support for all TikTok’s innovative initiatives, state-of-the-art products, and integrated platforms servicing our global video market. We help our technological and business teams enable their vision by providing integrated legal guidance and support. The TikTok team is growing fast and is seeking highly experienced, bright and capable legal professionals to join the team. As a subject matter expert team in the Global Legal department, the Global Legal-Employment Litigation & HR Counseling team handles matters involving TikTok in all the regions in which TikTok operates, including the Americas employment law matters.

The ideal candidate will be a team player with a collaborative attitude. They must also possess a builder mentality and have the ability to deliver proactive, practical legal guidance in a rapidly evolving business landscape.

This is a highly collaborative, on-site role that requires five days per week in the office.

Responsibilities:
- Provide advice and counsel on all aspects of employment law to TikTok's operations, with a focus on its Latin America (LATAM) workforce.
- Advise HR and business leaders on day-to-day employee lifecycle issues, including hiring practices, onboarding, performance management, leaves of absence, accommodations, compensation & benefits, organizational restructuring, and terminations.
- Draft, review, and revise all employment-related legal documentation including offer letters, employment agreements, severance packages, confidentiality agreements, employee handbooks, and policy updates tailored to local LATAM labor requirements.
- Guide investigative teams in workplace investigations in the LATAM region on compliant investigation processes and outcomes.
- Effectively support and collaborate with colleagues around the world to provide legal advice on LATAM employment matters in a manner that considers global and regional needs.
- Strategically manage and advise on employment litigation matters and pre-litigation employment disputes as required.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
- Law degree (LL.B./Juris Doctorate equivalent) with active, good-standing bar admission to practice in Brazil.
- 5+ years of experience in private practice or a corporate legal department with a highly-regarded firm or organization practicing employment law counseling and/or employment litigation.
- Expertise in LATAM labor and employment regulations, with mandatory hands-on experience supporting Brazil employment matters; additional experience in Mexico, Argentina, or Colombia preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to research complex legal questions and provide clear, actionable guidance for cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong judgment, integrity, ability to handle highly confidential information, and exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English (required for global collaboration) and either Portuguese or Spanish (required for regional stakeholder engagement).

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing and delivering employment law training for HR and business stakeholders.
- Track record of driving cross-regional and cross-functional initiatives for legal compliance and process improvement.
- Experience integrating AI tools to optimize legal workflows, drive efficiency gains, and improve quality of legal services.
