Contract With a Recognized Leader in School-Based Services

AIM (Assessment Intervention Management) partners with independent professionals across Texas to deliver high-quality dyslexia services in public school settings. Our organization has been recognized with distinctions including Best Place to Work, Top Workplaces, Best Workplaces in Texas, and certification as a Great Place to Work — reflecting the collaborative, professional environment we extend to our contract clinicians and interventionists.

Why Contract With AIM?

  • Autonomy: Retain control over your professional methods, materials, and instructional approach within district requirements.
  • Flexible Caseloads: Accept assignments that fit your availability and geographic preferences. You choose which contracts to take.
  • Competitive Contract Rate: Paid at a competitive market rate for school-based dyslexia intervention.
  • Reliable Placement Support: AIM handles district relationships, scheduling coordination, and administrative logistics so you can focus on students.
  • Professional Community: Access to a network of experienced interventionists, evaluators, and related-service providers, plus optional collaborative learning opportunities.
  • No Long-Term Obligation: Engagements are defined by contract term, typically aligned to the school year or a specified service period.

Scope of Services

As an independent contractor providing dyslexia intervention services, you will:

  • Deliver Intervention: Plan and provide dyslexia intervention services, ensuring alignment with each student's IEP.
  • Participate in Assessment: Contribute to evaluations to assess students with dyslexia and support eligibility determinations for services.
  • Collaborate: Work alongside the multidisciplinary team to advance literacy skills in students.
  • Share Expertise: Provide insight and training to school personnel to support identification and understanding of dyslexia.

Services are delivered using research-based instruction consistent with the Texas Dyslexia Handbook and applicable district dyslexia policies and procedures, typically in a small-group format.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Certification/Licensure: Valid driver's license; Texas Teaching Certificate with Reading Specialist Certification, or certification in a multi-sensory structured language program for dyslexia (e.g., Wilson, Take Flight, Barton, Reading by Design, MTA)
  • BLS certification required for this position
  • Language: Monolingual or bilingual
  • Preferred Experience: Minimum of five years teaching experience; demonstrated knowledge of dyslexia and instruction of students identified with dyslexia and related disorders

Independent Contractor Terms

This is a 1099 independent contractor engagement, not employment. Accordingly:

  • Compensation is paid as contract fees against submitted invoices; no taxes are withheld. A completed W-9 is required prior to the start of services.
  • The contractor is solely responsible for all federal, state, and self-employment taxes.
  • No employee benefits are provided, including health, dental, or vision insurance; retirement plans; disability or life insurance; or paid leave.
  • The contractor maintains their own professional liability insurance and is responsible for keeping all required certifications and licensure current at their own expense.
  • The contractor determines the means and methods of service delivery, subject to the requirements of the IEP, the Texas Dyslexia Handbook, and applicable district and campus policies.
  • Service dates, locations, and rates are set out in a written independent contractor agreement.

Engagement is contingent upon a satisfactory background check permitting work in a public school setting.
