Job Summary:


A hands on leader able to manage, direct and coordinate activities related to assuring Contract Manufacturer supply, quality, delivery and price competitiveness. This cross functional position includes the development, implementation and influence of supply chain strategies, best practices in the disciplines of inventory management, procurement, and supply chain management. In addition, the position calls for a strong leader who can motivate, challenge, and develop a team of experience Supply Chain professionals in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for directing the organization's overall supply chain operations.
  • Develops strategic plans to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of EMS supplier operations.
  • Ensures that issues within the supply chain regarding new/existing products are resolved in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
  • Works with planning team/fulfillment to evaluates past performance data to forecast needs and production levels
  • Responsible to ensure external processes are understood and tracked, and that agreed upon SLA's are measured and delivered. For any non-compliance, action plans are developed and execution monitored.
  • Collaborates with internal functional groups (Operation, Sales, Finance, Legal, Quality) to drive internal efficiencies and ensure processes are adhered to.
  • Regularly provides metrics for internal review and tracks actions for improvement.
  • Acts as a change agent when required. Responsible for understanding the culture of both internal organizations as well as the partners.
  • Performs material planning and purchasing function for manufacturing; ensures on-time deliveries.
  • Develops and maintains inventory metrics and material procurement goals.
  • Drive cost improvement programs through outside suppliers; identify alternative suppliers to reduce cost and improve quality.
  • Create and implement SOP's to ensure compliance with departmental functions and systems.
  • Develop relationships in the marketplace to understand and stay abreast of industry changes which may impact various business management programs as it relates to pricing trends and new products.
  • Add value to the senior management team. Be an individual that can approach business challenges from a macro perspective and resolve strategic issues effectively.
  • Ensure all supplier contracts are complete, properly executed, and have considered all cost variables, including the unbundling of freight. Work with transportation in determining optimal delivery terms, rates, and freight class.
  • Represent a professional, respectful, and courteous manner when interacting with co-workers, members, and suppliers. Team work skills are critical.
  • Promote the achievement of corporate goals and objectives.
  • Ensure Supply Chain Risk plans and Business Continuity strategy are up-to date and easily activated in the event primary suppliers are unable to perform as required.
  • The position may require domestic U.S. and International travel

Requirements:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and at least 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex projects and changing priorities; work extended hours when required, make sound decisions under pressure, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Previous experience in operations management, inventory management, performance metrics, and project management.
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills, and written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to rapidly learn new systems and procedures.
  • Prior Netsuite or similar MRP planning system experience preferred. 

Education and Experience

  • MBA preferred; must have at least a Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management.
  • APICS or other related purchasing certifications desired.
