Director of Student Affairs (m/f/d) 

(full-time; 40 hours/week, limited; 2 years) 

 

As our Director of Student Affairs you will be intensively involved in a broad range of activities. The main goal of Student Affairs is to support students during their entire stay at Constructor University, contributing to their personal and academic success. Your responsibilities would include the following departments: Registrar & Student Services, Student Life & Support, Academic Advising Services, Student Services and Welcome Center.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Organizing the implementation of strategic goals

  • Actively accompany strategic initiatives, change process, and further development of student services and the university

  • Ensure adherence to the academic constitution, policies and regulations with special regard to education, students and quality management

  • Ensure that day-to-day operations of the organization run effectively and efficiently

  • Define, monitor and optimize processes, including the cross-divisional ones together with the organizational structures involved

  • Enhance a performance-oriented culture by defining goals of the departments and its employees, monitoring and following up on the goals in performance reviews

  • Organize, accompany and monitor relevant projects in close cooperation with project managers

  • Manage the annual budget

 

Your Qualifications: 

  • Master Degree

  • PhD degree is an advantage

  • Knowledge of German higher education law

  • Experience in managing teaching and student services in a university would be appreciated

 

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Customer-orientation: taking an active role in meeting customer needs, ensuring that deadlines and service levels are met, working to improve standards

  • Teambuilding: ability to work in and with teams nurturing a respectful, positive and constructive work climate, excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Leadership: strategic thinking skills, ability to make complex ideas clear and easy to understand for everyone facilitating their realization, collaborative problem-solving orientation and decision-making; proactivity, flexibility and creativity in seeking innovative solutions

  • Fluent in English, German would be appreciated
