Director of Nursing (DON) - Antelope Valley Care Center

Antelope Valley Care Center, a respected skilled nursing facility in Lancaster, CA, is seeking a dynamic, hands-on Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department. We are looking for a strong leader who can inspire, mentor, and hold staff accountable while maintaining a culture of compassion and excellence in resident care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide confident leadership, discipline, education, and training for the nursing team

• Maintain strong interpersonal relationships with staff, residents, families, and external agencies

• Communicate effectively with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations

• Be hands-on and visible on the floor, leading by example

• Ensure thorough and accurate documentation in PointClickCare (PCC)

• Oversee survey preparation, execution, and corrective action plans

• Mentor and develop staff for professional growth and retention

• Resolve conflicts and foster a positive work culture

• Drive improvements in quality measures and maintain high standards of care

• Manage budgets, staffing, and scheduling for nursing services

• Analyze data and implement performance improvement initiatives

• Collaborate with department heads to achieve facility-wide goals

Qualifications:

• Current, unencumbered RN license in California

• Minimum 3 years of Director of Nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility

• In-depth knowledge of SNF state and federal regulations

• Proven success in leading nursing teams and improving facility performance

• Proficiency in PointClickCare (PCC)

• Exceptional organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure

• Compassionate, resident-focused approach to leadership
