Job Summary
St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic School in St. Louis is seeking a Part-Time Director of Human Dignity, Diversity and Justice to lead three middle school elective classes each week and facilitate faculty and community engagement. This position is approximately 5 hours/week.
The ideal candidate will foster respectful dialogue, cultural awareness, empathy, and student leadership while supporting the values of Catholic education and the dignity of every person.
Qualifications
- Teaching experience, preferably with middle school students
- Experience, training, or demonstrated knowledge in DEI and/or diversity education
- Familiarity with Catholic social teaching and its application to diversity, social justice, and inclusion efforts
- Experience developing diversity curriculum or facilitating equity-focused discussions with youth
- Strong communication and classroom facilitation skills
- Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic Education
Responsibilities
- Plan and teach engaging weekly diversity-based elective classes
- Facilitate meaningful discussions on inclusion and social justice with students
- Perform assigned supervisory duties, including lunch and recess monitoring, as part of the overall faculty responsibilities.
- Lead the Diversity Council and support student-led initiatives
- Collaborate with school administration and faculty as needed by providing professional development opportunities during monthly staff meetings
- Partner with school families and community members to create and support diversity-focused initiatives and events
