Director, Logistics Security & Loss Prevention

What The Role Is:

The Director Logistics Security & Loss Prevention will build and implement solutions for a variety of unique security challenges from physical security of sites, to theft and fraud, and to formulating response to critical incidents affecting Coupang Last Mile. You will obsess over maximizing the employee and customer experience, and drive a global strategy that sets the bar for Coupang and the security team.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead the Logistics Security & Loss Prevention team in developing and implementing business strategy and security processes throughout the organization to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure and liability concerning financial, physical, personal, and reputational risk.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to our operations team on safe guarding assets, operations, technology, and practices to anticipate, address, prevent, and mitigate security and loss issues across the supply chain.
• Lead deployment of groundbreaking technology solutions and innovative Loss Prevention management techniques to safeguard Coupang’s assets, employees and customers.
• Provide leadership and support to operations teams in emergency situations like natural disasters and active threats that disrupt business operations. 
• Assess and analyze safety, theft, and loss risk to Coupang and realign Loss Prevention strategy, as appropriate.

Who You Are:

• 15+ years of progressive executive experience in security, loss prevention, asset protection, or supply chain risk management, with a proven track record in complex logistics environments.
• Framework Development in Ambiguity: Demonstrated success building, implementing, and scaling security frameworks, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) from the ground up where minimal prior standardization existed.
• People Leadership & Team Building: Deep experience building, mentoring, and developing high-performing, multi-tiered security teams, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and operational excellence.
• Stakeholder Management: Exceptional executive presence and interpersonal skills, with a track record of successfully influencing, navigating, and aligning with difficult or highly matrixed cross-functional business stakeholders.
• Crisis & Incident Command: Hands-on experience leading response strategy and execution during critical incidents, operational disruptions, active threats, and natural disasters.

Preferred Qualifications

• E-Commerce & Last Mile Experience: Prior experience in fast-paced e-commerce, high-volume fulfillment, or Last Mile delivery operations.
• Tech-Driven Security Innovation: Experience evaluating and deploying advanced security technology, predictive analytics, and automated loss prevention management systems to scale operations.
• Professional Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified Loss Prevention Director (LPC).
