Shape Global Planning and Business Performance as Director, Global Supply Planning

Join a pivotal global leadership role where you will shape how pricing, capacity, and resource planning support business success across Valmet. You will lead the teams driving cost modelling, capacity management, and Sales & Operations Planning, helping the organization make smarter commercial and operational decisions. Working across business areas and with key stakeholders in Production, Procurement, Sales, and Operations, you will influence competitiveness, delivery performance, and inventory optimization on a global scale. If you thrive on connecting strategy with execution and turning complex planning challenges into business value, this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead global teams responsible for pricing, cost modelling, and capacity management across Valmet's business areas.

  • Provide cost, capacity, and workload analyses that support commercial decisions, sales projects, and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).

  • Develop optimized supply and production plans by identifying capacity, supply, and operational constraints and translating them into actionable recommendations.

  • Lead and facilitate global S&OP processes, ensuring effective collaboration, alignment, and decision-making across functions, business areas, suppliers, and strategic partners.

  • Partner with Production and Procurement teams to maintain accurate cost and pricing models that support operational and commercial performance

Expectations for you

  • You hold a BSc or MSc degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.

  • You have 5–10 years of experience leading resources, teams, or functions in a global environment.

  • You have strong expertise in Sales and Operations Planning and a solid understanding of business operations, technologies, and resource capabilities.

  • You have a proven track record of leading transformational initiatives and continuous improvement programmes.

  • You have advanced communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.

To succeed in this role

You bring strategic thinking and the ability to evaluate multiple business scenarios across different planning horizons. You build strong networks, create alignment across functions, and confidently influence stakeholders to drive action. Your collaborative leadership style, change management capability, and results-oriented mindset enable you to continuously improve operations while maintaining a strong customer and service focus.

We also expect you to align with Valmet’s Leadership Principles—practical behaviours that guide how we lead, collaborate, and succeed together:
