Director Engineering- Data Platforms

About Role:

The Head of Data Platforms at Myntra will spearhead the development and expansion of the company's robust data infrastructure. This encompasses overseeing Data Platforms, A/B Testing frameworks, and Machine Learning platforms. This role will involve building and leading high-performing data teams within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Ultimately, the Head of Data Platforms will drive data-driven growth and operational excellence across the organization

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategy & Leadership: Define and implement data platform strategy. Oversee architecture (pipelines, lakes, warehouses). Foster a data-driven culture. Collaborate with Engineering, ML, and Insights teams.
• A/B Testing: Lead A/B testing strategy and platform development. Ensure data integrity and accuracy in experimentation. Optimize workflows for agility and impact.
• Machine Learning: Lead ML platform development. Collaborate with data scientists for seamless model production. Stay ahead of industry trends.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Operations teams. Engage key stakeholders. Drive data governance, quality, and compliance.
• Team Leadership: Lead high-performing data engineering teams. Set and monitor OKRs & KPIs. Deliver high-impact, reliable data solutions.
• Operational Excellence: Ensure platform reliability, monitoring, and alerting. Optimize platform performance, latency, and scalability. Drive cost optimization.
• Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies. Lead Proof of Concepts (POCs) for new technologies.

Requisites:

• Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 14+ years of experience in data engineering/infrastructure management, with 5+ years in senior leadership managing a large team
• Experience in a high-scale e-commerce or tech-driven company preferred

• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). Knowledge of Databricks and Delta Lakes. Expertise in building and managing data platforms. Proficient in big data processing frameworks (Hadoop, Spark). Deep understanding of data governance, security, and compliance.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional teams. Ability to define and execute data strategies.
