Job Overview

Viracon is hiring a Digital Printer Operator to join our Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday Day Shift (Line Temp 7) team. This role is responsible for operating digital and silkscreen printing equipment to produce high-quality printed glass while ensuring maximum efficiency and compliance with established production schedules. Operators also support furnace operations and collaborate with process engineering to maintain consistent output and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate digital printers, silkscreen equipment, and heat-treating furnaces according to standard operating procedures.

  • Ensure printed glass meets quality and visual specifications while minimizing downtime.

  • Perform quick setup and teardown procedures for printing jobs.

  • Maintain ink supplies and equipment cleanliness, ensuring compliance with EPA and PCA requirements.

  • Provide direction to support staff and assist with training new team members.

  • Complete required daily documentation and ensure effective shift-to-shift handoffs.

  • Assist with related production tasks such as glass loading and seaming as needed.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process optimization.

  • Follow all safety protocols, including the proper handling of solvents, paints, and waste materials.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; 2-year mechanical/technical education preferred.

  • Mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Dependable with excellent attendance, flexibility for overtime, and willingness to adjust to shifting work demands.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Ability to read and understand work instructions and use basic math for measurements.

  • Highly organized with strong multitasking abilities.

  • Experience with power and hand tools; computer proficiency required.

  • Ability to train peers and work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Fluent in English.

Pay & Schedule

  • Pay: $23.40/hour

  • Shift: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Days and some Saturdays 6a-pa

Work Environment

  • Large-scale manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, dust, and chemicals.

  • Requires the use of safety equipment such as gloves, goggles, and respirators.

  • Frequent interaction with moving equipment and production machinery.
