Digital Content Producer/MMJ

WesternSlopeNow.com and KREX has an immediate opening for a Digital Content Producer/MMJ in beautiful Grand Junction, Colorado.  This is a fast-paced multi-media position where the qualified candidate will create and update local news in the viewing area, and get the opportunity to shoot and edit video for reports.  You’ll consistently update our website, mobile app and social media. 

WesternSlopeNow.com and KREX has an immediate opening for a Digital Content Producer/MMJ in beautiful Grand Junction, Colorado.  This is a fast-paced multi-media position where the qualified candidate will create and update local news in the viewing area, and get the opportunity to shoot and edit video for reports.  You’ll consistently update our website, mobile app and social media. 

 Duties Include:

• Publish at least 10 items per shift.
• Create content for local hard news stories for website, app or broadcast
• Post engaging copy, video and other content to drive web traffic
• Review copy of other MMJs to enhance style and correct errors in content, grammar and punctuation, following prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelines

Requirements & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
• Fluency in English
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Flexibility to work any shift

COMPENSATION RANGE:

Annual Salary: $15.80 an hour, commensurate with experience
