Apply to this jobSkilled Trades Partners is partnering with a well-established and growing heavy civil/sitework contractor to hire an experienced Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Equipment Technician for their Lakeville, MA operation. This is a permanent, direct hire opportunity with a company that maintains a large fleet of construction equipment supporting commercial, utility, excavation, and site development projects throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
We're seeking a hands-on mechanic who can confidently diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment while helping keep a busy fleet operating safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, drivetrains, and undercarriage components
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and scheduled service on heavy construction equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to minimize equipment downtime
- Service and repair equipment including:
- Excavators
- Dozers
- Wheel Loaders
- Skid Steers
- Rollers
- Other heavy construction equipment
- Conduct equipment inspections and identify maintenance needs before failures occur
- Complete repair orders, service records, and maintenance documentation
- Assist with field service repairs and emergency breakdowns as needed
- Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment
- Follow all company safety policies and manufacturer service procedures
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Technician, or similar role
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and drivetrain components
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing heavy construction equipment
- Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
- CDL license is a plus but not required
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair priorities
