Job description

The Greenridge Group is a prime contractor and consulting firm specializing in Project and Construction Management for major public-sector agencies.

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager – A/E Services to support the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Facilities Services Division.

This position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced architecture, engineering, or facilities design professional with a strong background managing the planning, design, and coordination of complex capital improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the design process to ensure projects meet program, budget, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage multiple projects, including engineering repair and critical repair projects, while coordinating with architects, consultants, engineers, and District personnel.
  • Oversee the building design process and ensure compliance with applicable District standards and guidelines.
  • Provide architects and design teams with clear direction regarding project goals, scope, standards, schedule, site requirements, and budget.
  • Coordinate and facilitate design reviews to ensure projects meet overall objectives.
  • Review proposed design changes and monitor their impact on project budgets and requirements.
  • Monitor project planning and design progress and provide updates, recommendations, and reports to project stakeholders.
  • Support the evaluation and selection of architectural firms based on qualifications and performance requirements.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering from a recognized college or university.
  • Minimum 8 years of full-time professional experience managing facilities design or planning and coordinating capital projects.
  • Experience must include responsibilities involving design, contract administration, cost estimating, and scheduling.
  • At least 4 years of experience must involve the design, planning, and construction of educational facilities or similar public-agency projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • California-registered Architect (RA), or
  • California-licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
