We are seeking a Deputy Vice President (DVP), Compliance to partner closely with the business and management teams across the SingPost Group, ensuring that business operations are conducted with integrity, transparency, and in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal standards.

The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying and assessing regulatory compliance risks, advising stakeholders on compliance matters, and supporting the design, implementation, and enhancement of compliance programmes across the Group. This role will also be responsible for overseeing compliance with Singapore's Payment Services Act (PSA) and Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), while fostering a strong culture of compliance throughout the organisation.
  • Head and manage the Compliance function and provide guidance to team members in areas of expertise
  • Manage compliance and personal data frameworks, policies and procedures, including formulation of policies and governing best practices
  • Monitor and assess business units’ compliance with various laws annual regulations, primarily in Singapore, in particular: compliance with Singapore’s Payment Services Act and Personal Data Protection Act, sanctions checks, anti-money laundering and anti-bribery regulations.
  • Participate in compliance and personal data related reviews, investigations and management reporting activities and presentations to the Board and Management from time to time
  • Carry out awareness briefings and staff trainings on regulatory requirements, company policies and procedures
  • Provide internal compliance and personal data advisory to business and management teams
  • Participate in projects with business and support units to provide compliance inputs to ensure regulatory requirements and compliance and personal data risks are addressed appropriately at the earliest stage
  • Implementation of compliance and personal data controls and associated activities
  • Propose effective controls to mitigate any gaps identified

Experience:

  • Qualification in relevant field, e.g., degree
  • At least 9 years of regulatory compliance or related experience
  • Currently in a bank or fintech company (recently left or experienced in liaising with MAS in the past organisations) will be favourable
  • Strong and effective communication skill is a must
  • Ability to translate a wide variety of principles and, sometimes complex, legal requirements into actionable solutions for the business
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time (including those out of one’s comfort zone) and prioritise work while continuing to provide responsive service to internal stakeholders
  • CCEP, CCEP-I or ICA certification and/or PDPA Practitioner certification will be advantageous
  • Having experience leading a compliance team preferable, but not a must.

Qualities:

  • Excellent understanding of the common compliance requirements, and capable of balancing compliance risk against business interests
  • Cross functional stakeholder management including the ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority
  • Demonstrated capability on conveying ideas clearly and effectively
  • Experienced in developing training materials and conducting awareness outreach to different audiences via various platforms
  • Possess strong desire to keep abreast on new technologies and explore ways to adopt such technologies to achieve operational efficiency
  • Ability to think outside the box for complex issues and provide guidance that leads to workable solution
  • Enjoy working in dynamic environment
  • Having experience leading a compliance team preferable, but not a must
