<p style="margin: 1em 0; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0; text-align: justify"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">A Non-Merit vacancy exists in the Department of Aging for a <span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Senior Center</span> <span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Nutrition Site Specialist. </span></span></p><p style="margin: 1em 0; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Non-Merit positions are not classified within the Baltimore County Government Classification and Compensation Plan.</p><p style="margin: 1em 0; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0; text-align: justify">Regular Schedule: 20 Hours Per Week.</p>This job announcement may close at any time with little or no notice. Proof of professional licenses, certifications, and education must be submitted with each application.</span><strong>Job Purpose</strong><br>Under the supervision of the Nutrition Program Manager, oversees the operation of nutrition sites in a specified geographic region.<br><br><strong>Essential Job Duties</strong><ul><li>Monitors nutrition site for compliance with policies and procedures.</li><li>Monitors volunteer and paid leaders and assists with daily operational issues.</li><li>Assists in the recruitment of volunteers and program participants and marketing of the Eating Together Program.</li><li>Works with volunteer leader(s) and resident manager concerning facility-related issues.</li><li>Assists the leader in reporting/facilitating issues with Caterer and Nutrition Office related to food quality and delivery.</li><li>Monitors and assists with proper reporting and cash management, including:<ul><li>Daily Attendance </li><li>Meal Count Reports</li><li>Weekly Nutrition Reports</li><li>Supply Orders</li><li>Service Delivery Reports</li><li>Volunteer Hours Reports) related to the Eating Together Program</li></ul></li><li>Conducts registration of participants to the Eating Together Program and enters clients into My Senior Center/BC-Pass.</li><li>Conducts Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) trainings and nutrition education programs.</li><li>Cooperates with nutrition staff in the provision of training to volunteer leaders and program volunteers.</li></ul><strong>Examples of Other Duties</strong><br>Attends meetings as required and completes other related duties as assigned.<br><br><strong>NOTE:</strong> The duties and responsibilities listed above are for the purpose of determining a common set of minimum qualifications for all positions in this class. Each position may not be required to perform all of the essential job functions listed.<br><strong style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Required Qualifications</strong> <br>Graduation from a recognized high school or an appropriate equivalency;<br><strong>Plus</strong><br>One year's experience in a senior center, nutrition sites, congregate meal services, community involvement, or other food service experience.<br><br><strong>Preferred Knowledge and Skills</strong><ul><li>Knowledge of the objectives and purposes of the "Eating Together Program" and related programs and services for older adults.</li><li>Ability to work effectively with senior adults, volunteers, and the community in general.</li><li>Ability to make simple calculations and keep standard records, including using a computer (Excel and Word).</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.</li><li>Must be ServSafe certified or obtain this certification within 6 months of hire.</li></ul><p><strong>Licenses and Certificates</strong><br>Possession of a valid Non-Commercial Class C Maryland Driver's license of an appropriate equivalent is required at the time of appointment.</p><ul style="padding-left: 2rem; margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 3pt; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0; margin-left: 48px"><li><p style="margin: 0 0 8pt">Applicants selected for this position will be required to travel to sites throughout Baltimore County using their personal vehicle. Certifications must be maintained throughout employment<strong>.</strong></p><p><strong>Physical and Environmental Conditions</strong><br>These positions are essentially sedentary, with occasional walking, lifting, or other limited physical activity.</p><p>This position requires you to work afternoons and early evenings, with occasional weekend work.<br><br></p><p><strong>Medical Examination and Employment Background Investigation</strong><br>Applicants selected for employment with Baltimore County must successfully complete a physical examination, drug screening, and employment investigation, including, but not limited to, criminal background, education certification, and fingerprinting checks.</p>
