Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented IT Project Manager to support technology initiatives within the retail sector. This role is responsible for planning, tracking, and executing IT projects that enable operational efficiency, enhance customer experiences, and support omnichannel retail capabilities.

The ideal candidate will be adept at delivering clear, concise, and consistent project communications tailored to executives, store operations, supply chain, merchandising, and technical teams. The role requires strong adaptability to frequent business changes, market demands, and tight retail timelines. The IT Project Manager will also prepare executive-ready presentations on short notice and support critical project phases that may require extended or irregular work hours.

  • Develop, manage, and maintain detailed IT project plans, schedules, and resource allocations aligned with retail business priorities.
  • Monitor milestones and deliverables to ensure projects meet defined scope, quality, and timelines.
  • Track and manage risks, issues, and dependencies across multiple retail functions.
  • Deliver clear and consistent project updates tailored for executives, store leaders, IT teams, vendors, and cross-functional business units.
  • Prepare polished project presentations and reports—even under tight deadlines.
  • Drive coordination between IT, store operations, logistics, merchandising, e‑commerce, and external partners.
  • Adapt plans and approaches quickly in response to seasonality, promotional cycles, and changing retail business needs.
  • Ensure project documentation is complete, accurate, and updated.
  • Support major cutovers, go‑lives, and seasonal retail events that may require long or unusual work hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
  • 3–7 years of IT project management experience, preferably in the retail industry.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage detailed project timelines and deliverables.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical information for non‑technical retail stakeholders.
  • Strong flexibility and responsiveness to dynamic business environments.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, Confluence, or Smartsheet.
  • Ability to create executive-ready presentations quickly (PowerPoint or equivalent).
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Willingness to support extended or irregular work hours during critical retail operational periods (e.g., seasonal events, system cutovers).
  • PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum, or related certification.
  • Experience working with POS, ERP, OMS, WMS, e‑commerce, or omnichannel retail systems.
  • Familiarity with SDLC, Agile methods, and cloud‑based retail solutions.
  • Experience contributing to PMO standards and process improvements.
