Job description

At Lumino The Dentists, we’re more than New Zealand’s largest dental network, we’re a nationwide community of passionate clinicians dedicated to helping Kiwis smile with confidence. With over 125 practices across Aotearoa, Lumino is part of the Abano Healthcare Group, giving our teams access to state-of-the-art facilities, a trusted support network, and continuous professional growth opportunities.

From general and cosmetic dentistry to complex restorative care, we empower our clinicians to do their best work supported by advanced technology, mentorship, and a culture built on collaboration and care.

Whether you’re looking to advance your career, embrace new challenges, or find a community that truly values your skills, Lumino The Dentists offers you a place to belong, grow, and make a real difference every day.

Looking for a role that combines clinical freedom, a loyal patient base, and a lifestyle you’ll love?

At Lumino Oamaru, we’re seeking an experienced Dentist to join our welcoming, long-standing team. This is your chance to step into a thriving two-surgery practice that’s been proudly serving the Oamaru and wider Otago community for over 40 years.

One of our much-loved dentists is hanging up their handpiece, which means you’ll walk into a full patient list that values genuine, high-quality care, and a supportive team that loves what they do and where they live.

Why Join Us?

Work-Life Balance, Perfected: Choose full-time or part-time hours (Monday–Friday only) — and enjoy no weekends, ever. We believe great dentistry starts with a balanced lifestyle.

💼 Full Books from Day One: Walk into a full patient list and a busy practice, respected and deeply rooted in its community.

💰 Competitive Package & Perks: Attractive remuneration, an extra 5% commission for supporting demand, and access to ongoing professional development through Lumino’s national network.

🦷 Clinical Freedom, Genuine Support: Enjoy the independence to practice your way, with the backing of Lumino’s extensive clinical and operational teams.

📈 Marketing & Business Support: From patient growth campaigns to digital referrals and real-time performance insights, our support teams help your practice and career thrive.

✈️ Relocation & Visa Support: Moving to Oamaru? We’ll help make it seamless. As an Accredited Employer with Immigration New Zealand, we can assist with visa sponsorship and relocation for the right candidate.

Welcome to Oamaru: the best-kept secret of the South Island.

This isn’t just where you’ll work; it’s where you’ll live well. Picture stunning coastal views, charming Victorian architecture, and a warm, welcoming community that feels like family.

Enjoy short commutes, affordable living, and endless outdoor adventures from exploring the famous Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail, to spotting penguins at dusk, to sipping coffee in one of Oamaru’s quirky, creative cafés.

Whether you’re seeking balance, adventure, or a slower pace without sacrificing professional satisfaction, Oamaru offers the best of all worlds and a lifestyle you’ll never want to leave.

Who We're Looking For:

✅ Qualified Dentist with ideally 2+ years of clinical experience
✅ Registered or eligible for registration with the Dental Council of New Zealand (DCNZ)
✅ Holds (or can obtain) a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
✅ Confident across a wide range of general dentistry procedures
✅ A self-motivated, collaborative professional who enjoys autonomy
✅ Committed to providing ethical, empathetic, patient-centred care

If you’re ready to combine a rewarding career with a lifestyle that’s second to none, we’d love to hear from you. 🦷
