Job Description : 

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Provides prophylaxis treatments and education to patients.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Calls the patient to confirm scheduled appointment. (5%)

• Evaluates patient, takes blood pressure, and reviews medical history prior to dental prophylaxis. (10%)

• Performs prophylaxis treatments, scaling and root planning, and periodontal probing. (65%)

• Documents overall oral hygiene in the patient chart for review by the dentist and ensures proper billing procedures. (10%)

• Explains procedure to patients/families and provides teaching instructions and or materials for home care. (10%)

• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

• Current Pennsylvania Dental Hygiene License.

Preferred

• 1 year of dental hygienist experience preferred.

Additional Employment Requirements:

• CPR – American Heart Association

• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate

• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
