About the Role

Coastal Health & Wellness (CHW) is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Dental Director to lead our growing dental program. This role oversees the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered dental care in a community health setting, ensuring adherence to regulatory, safety, and professional standards.

As a key member of the CHW leadership team, the Dental Director provides clinical oversight, supports strategic initiatives, and drives performance improvement for our dental operations. The ideal candidate is both a compassionate provider and an inspiring leader who values collaboration, growth, and innovation in community health.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and mentor dentists, hygienists, and support staff to deliver consistent, high-quality patient care.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain dental clinic policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs.

  • Partner with the COO to manage operational effectiveness, including staffing, scheduling, and budget performance.

  • Conduct performance evaluations to ensure dental providers meet organizational and regulatory standards.

  • Oversee compliance with HRSA, Joint Commission, CDC, and other federal and state program requirements.

  • Provide direct patient care, including preventive, restorative, periodontal, endodontic, prosthodontic, and oral surgery services.

  • Participate in organizational strategic planning, board discussions, and clinical quality initiatives.

  • Support community outreach and oral health education efforts to promote prevention and care access.

  • Ensure infection control and sterilization procedures are consistently followed.

  • Promote a culture of excellence, accountability, and teamwork across the dental program.

What You’ll Bring

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) with current Texas licensure through the State Board of Dental Examiners.

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on clinical dentistry experience preferred.

  • Experience in dental program management, training, and quality assurance.

  • Current DEA and DPS registration, CPR/BLS certification (ACLS preferred).

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

  • Strong knowledge of dental clinic operations, equipment, and regulatory standards.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems.

  • Must maintain a valid Texas driver’s license and reliable transportation.

  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
