Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Assists in patient treatment with Dentist and assists the Dental Department with patient flow, sterilization and asepsis of equipment, dental outside lab procedures; maintains appropriate inventory levels and performs dental x-rays.  Educated and expected to competently care for the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient (age 3 – 100 +). Must be certified to take radiographs /graduate of an approved dental assistant program.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum of a High School diploma or GED is required. Graduate of a certified dental assistant program (or equivalent, such as 1 year experience in a dental office doing chair side or completion of Armed Forces training) is also required.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:

  • Must be certified in radiographs /or graduate of a certified dental program in order to perform x-rays.

  • Must have a Commonwealth of Massachusetts Dental Assistant License.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of oral hygiene and dental assistance functions.

  • Excellent manual dexterity, and ability to perform detailed and accurate work.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills that demonstrate concern and caring attitude towards patients, family members and staff.

  • Basic computer proficiency inclusive of ability to enter and access data/information.

Compensation Range:

$21.39- $30.05

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer.
