Job Title: Temporary Summer Deli Floater 

Reports To: Store and Deli Managers

Pay: Starting at $19.67/hour

Duration: Summer seasonal position 

Schedule: Schedule will vary based on operational needs, posted two weeks in advance

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are hiring a Temporary Summer Deli Floater to support both front-of-house and back-of-house deli operations during the busy summer months. This role helps ensure high-quality food preparation, clean workspaces, and excellent customer service.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Customer Service (Front of House)

• Provide friendly, responsive service at the deli counter
• Take and prepare customer orders accurately
• Answer questions and provide product information
• Package deli items neatly and professionally

Food Preparation & Production

• Prepare deli items according to established recipes and procedures
• Assist with assembling hot and cold foods
• Portion, package, and label products accurately and in compliance with guidelines
• Monitor freshness and rotate product as needed

Sanitation & Cleaning

• Perform dishwashing and cleaning of utensils, equipment, and work areas
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary workspaces
• Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures

General Duties

• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
• Adapt to changing priorities throughout a shift
• Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality
• Work collaboratively to support efficient deli operations

Additional Responsibilities

• Support deli and prepared foods operations as needed
• Assist with stocking deli cases and supplies
• Maintain proper labeling and compliance standards

QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid Food Worker Card (required)
• Ability to work a varied and flexible schedule
• Reliable attendance and strong dependability
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Must be 18 years old minimum

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing 40–50 lbs occasionally
• Frequent grasping, bending, reaching, twisting, and kneeling
• Ability to work in refrigerated areas and kitchen environments
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks (cutting, packaging, dishwashing)
