Apply to this jobYour role and work environment
Lending Operations is looking for an energetic, active, driven and knowledgeable (Loan IQ and related processes) Lending Operations Specialist to join Deal Administration focusing on control and supporting change. In this role you will execute and validate day-to-day lending activities while also supporting change, delivery and migration related tasks across the lending domain.
The day-to-day processing activities in Lending Operations are increasingly subject to automation and centralization. As a result, the Amsterdam based team is shifting gradually towards more complex, varied and control-oriented work. The successful candidate will therefore be comfortable operating across both ends of the spectrum: understanding how day-to-day lending work is executed globally, while also helping to initiate, drive and implement technology and process change.
The team currently consists of one team focused on transaction processing and one team focused on transaction validation. This role is primarily aligned to the validation team. As the functions continue to converge, the role may require work across both processing and validation activity. A strong product understanding, sound judgement under pressure and a control-focused mindset are essential to ensure processes are executed safely.
This role includes peak workloads around month-end and quarter-end. Flexibility, prioritisation and resilience are therefore important parts of the role.
Your responsibilities
- Transaction validation and control - Perform and support validation activities across lending transactions, ensuring accuracy, completeness and alignment with internal procedures and control expectations
- Loan IQ execution expertise -Use Loan IQ effectively at processing and validation level, including understanding the financial records it produces and the downstream impact of entries
- Payments and routing - Apply strong knowledge of payments, payment types, internal and external routing, cut-off times and related operational controls.
- Workflow management - Use Pega and other workflow tools to manage activities efficiently, identify bottlenecks and support optimisation of automation already developed within the process.
- Reconciliation support - Use knowledge of bookings and payments to support reconciliation processes and provide informed support to stakeholders where issues arise.
- Funding and correspondence controls - Understand funding profiles, related controls and the correct application of correspondence models.
- Change and delivery support - Assist with change, delivery and migration tasks that simplify operations, reduce operational risk and improve scalability
- Risk awareness - Operate with a strong awareness that mistakes can have serious ramifications, while maintaining confidence, discipline and ownership in day-to-day work.
Competencies
- Balances stakeholders – Understands the needs of internal and external stakeholders and acts in a way that supports safe execution and a strong client experience.
- Business insight – Applies knowledge of lending products, operational processes and relevant systems to deliver accurate outcomes.
- Decision quality – Makes timely, well-reasoned decisions based on facts, data and sound control judgement.
- Ensures accountability – Takes ownership of assigned activities, follows through on commitments and escalates issues appropriately.
- Instils trust – Builds confidence through accuracy, transparency, integrity and reliable communication.
- Manages complexity – Makes sense of detailed transaction information, sometimes under pressure, and identifies practical solutions.
- Optimises work processes – Looks for opportunities to simplify work, reduce manual effort, improve automation and lower the risk of errors.
- Plans and aligns – Prioritises work effectively, particularly during month-end and quarter-end peak periods.
