Data Mining Specialist with SQL (maternity leave replacement)

Having sound market insights is the solid basis of all good business decisions. The data mining team supports the Commercial function in making business decisions by ensuring accurate and relevant data is provided in a timely, well structured manner. The Data Mining Specialist has solid technical skills, understands the business (products, systems, business rules and KPIs) and is at home with the company DWH so that s/he can translate business need for data into technical scripts producing the needed data sets or information outcomes.

Main responsibilities:

• Extract data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
• Provide innovative and efficient solutions to data needs
• Filter & “clean” data and deliver in an easy to understand format to request initiators
• Be efficient in troubleshooting problems with data extraction codes
• Assist in the design and implementation of an effective process for supporting the commercial organization in their data needs

Main requirements:

• Strong knowledge of and experience with databases (SQL)
• Experience with reporting packages (Business Objects), statistical packages (SPSS, etc) and/or programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks) will be considered an advantage
• Looks forward to work with large data sets and is excited by deriving insights from such data sets
• Preferably 2+ years working experience in a data extraction/mining related role within network industries, preferably telecommunications
• Ability to work cross-functionally and under stress in challenging environment
• Fluent English
• Bachelor degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Information technologies or similar
