What will you do?
We are looking for a hands-on Data Engineer / Data Scientist with a strong Python background and experience in AI-driven solutions. This role combines solid data engineering capabilities with analytical and modeling skills. You will focus on building scalable data pipelines and developing AI/ML and agent-based solutions leveraging LLM technologies. You will join the Transaction Monitoring area within the Anti-Financial Crime Division at one of our UK banking clients, contributing to advanced analytics and intelligent automation initiatives.
Your tasks
- Implement data processing pipelines using Python and PySpark
- Develop supervised and unsupervised machine learning models
- Build and evaluate LLM-based and Generative AI solutions (prompting, orchestration, evaluation)
- Develop analytical and alerting models for financial crime detection
- Perform business-oriented data analysis and functional design
- Work within the Big Data ecosystem to process and transform large datasets
- Optimize distributed data processing jobs (Spark)
Your skills
- Minimum 5–6 years of commercial experience in similar roles
- Very good knowledge of Python 3.x
- Experience with PySpark and distributed data processing
- Practical experience within the Big Data ecosystem
- Experience in developing analytical or alerting models
- Solid understanding of data pipelines and scalable data architectures
- Experience with Agentic AI frameworks and AI agent development
- Knowledge of LLMs and Generative AI (prompt engineering, orchestration, evaluation)
Experience in:
- Machine Learning (Supervised & Unsupervised Learning)
- Large Language Models (LLM)
- GCP/VertexAI/Google ADK
- Generative Models (GANs, Variational Autoencoders – VAE)
- Experience with Spark (Big Data / Streaming)
- Data analysis skills including business and functional design
- English level B2+
Nice to have
- Experience in financial services or transaction monitoring
- Experience in Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) domain
- Experience working in regulated environments
