A leading health insurance company is currently seeking several Customer Service Representative positions for their location in Glendale, CA. This is a possible temp-to-permanent, full-time position. The pay rate is $17.50 per hour with a tentative start of 5/15/2017.

SUMMARY: This position will be working in a team environment. It is an inbound call center, supporting a non-clinical department. 6 week training is provided including on-the-job mentorship. You will be responsible for providing support to a clinical team in order to facilitate the administrative components of clinical referrals for various AIM services. You will act as a liaison between hospitals, physicians, health plans, vendors and patients.

PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Initiate and manage clinical referrals for pre-authorization.
  • Act as a liaison between hospital, health plans, physicians, patients, vendors and other referral sources. Review referrals for completeness and follow up for additional information if necessary.
  • Assign referrals to staff as appropriate.
  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorizations if needed from insurance plans.
  • Maintain database of insurance companies including numbers for verification of coverage, accepted plans, and requirements for patient eligibility.
  • Contact physician offices as needed to obtain demographic information or related data.
  • Enter referrals, documents, communications, actions and other data in system.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires high school diploma.
  • 1 year call center experience required with medical background preferred or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Medical terminology experience and basic understanding of the human body.
  • Excellent customer-service and telephone skills required.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills required.
  • Attention to detail, ability to work independently, able to apply feedback from management.
  • Must be able to talk and type at same time with speed and accuracy in data entry.

TERMS OF ASSIGNMENT:

Pay rate: $17.50 per hour

Schedule: 05/15/2017 to 09/11/2017 with a possibility to be directly hired.

Hours: Monday-Friday 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM. You would need to be flexible with the training schedule which could start as early as 7:00 AM or as late as 9:30 AM arrival.
