Crew Chief – Water, Fire & Mold Restoration

Position Summary

Absolute Clean and Restoration Inc. is seeking an experienced, motivated, and dependable Crew Chief to lead restoration crews on residential and commercial emergency losses. The Crew Chief is responsible for managing job sites from start to finish, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to IICRC standards while providing exceptional customer service.

This position requires a leader who can motivate technicians, communicate with customers and insurance professionals, accurately document projects, and maintain high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Lead and supervise restoration technicians on all assigned projects.
  • Train and mentor new employees.
  • Assign daily tasks and ensure work is completed efficiently.
  • Maintain a positive, professional work environment.
  • Ensure company policies and safety procedures are followed.

Water Damage Mitigation

  • Perform emergency water extraction.
  • Install and monitor drying equipment.
  • Perform demolition when necessary.
  • Record moisture readings and drying logs.
  • Determine proper drying strategies following IICRC S500 standards.

Fire & Smoke Restoration

  • Perform emergency board-ups and tarping.
  • Conduct smoke and soot cleaning.
  • Set up containment areas.
  • Operate air scrubbers and odor removal equipment.
  • Pack out and inventory contents when required.

Mold Remediation

  • Construct containment areas.
  • Install negative air systems.
  • Remove mold-contaminated materials.
  • Perform detailed cleaning using approved remediation methods.
  • Follow company mold remediation protocols.

Documentation

  • Complete accurate job documentation using company software.
  • Take before, during, and after photographs.
  • Document moisture readings.
  • Record equipment placement.
  • Maintain daily job notes.
  • Obtain customer signatures when required.

Customer Service

  • Explain the restoration process to customers.
  • Maintain professional communication throughout each project.
  • Address customer concerns promptly.
  • Represent the company in a courteous and professional manner.

Equipment & Vehicle Care

  • Maintain a clean company vehicle.
  • Keep trucks fully stocked and organized.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections.
  • Report damaged equipment immediately.
  • Assist with warehouse cleanliness and organization.

Safety

  • Follow all OSHA regulations.
  • Wear required PPE.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Report accidents or hazards immediately.

Physical Requirements

Work Schedule

  • Full-Time
  • Monday through Friday
  • Overtime available
  • On-call rotation required for emergency response
  • Nights and weekends as needed

Requirements

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 2 years restoration industry experience.
  • WRT certificate is a requirement to hold, AMRT is preferred but not required.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and participate in the on-call rotation.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, crawl spaces, attics, and on ladders.

  • IICRC WRT
  • IICRC ASD
  • IICRC AMRT
  • IICRC FSRT
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
