The Role
We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Credit Risk Analyst to join our team on a 6-month fixed term contract based at our Parramatta office.
Working closely with our Finance and Sales teams, you'll support the management of customer accounts, commercial trade credit assessments and collections activities across a diverse B2B customer portfolio.
This is a hands-on role that combines credit analysis, stakeholder engagement and customer relationship management.
The role is primarily focused on commercial credit risk activities, with dedicated time each week supporting collections for an assigned customer portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Credit & Commercial Risk Support
- Assess new and existing commercial trade credit applications, including reviewing financial statements, credit bureau reports, trade references and payment performance.
- Monitor customer credit limits, account performance and payment trends.
- Balance commercial opportunities with appropriate credit risk controls while supporting sales growth.
- Identify emerging risks and escalate issues where required.
- Maintain accurate customer records and credit documentation.
- Assist with reporting and risk monitoring activities.
- Work closely with Sales and internal stakeholders to achieve positive commercial outcomes.
Customer Account & Collections Support
- Manage collections and payment follow-up across an assigned customer portfolio.
- Negotiate payment outcomes and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Monitor and report on payment deterioration or adverse trends.
- Manage customer disputes and credit claims through to resolution.
- Manage customer orders in line with approved credit limits.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and follow-up activities.
- Collaborate with Sales and internal stakeholders to resolve issues impacting payment outcomes.
About You
You are a customer-focused and commercially minded professional who enjoys problem solving, relationship building and achieving positive business outcomes.
Experience & Skills
- Previous experience in Commercial Credit, Trade Credit, Accounts Receivable or Collections within a B2B environment is essential.
- Experience assessing customer credit applications and ongoing account performance.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to analyse information and identify potential risks.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Experience in industries such as construction materials, manufacturing, industrial, building products, wholesale or distribution will be highly regarded.
