COTA

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic team at Colonial Vista Post Acute. As a COTA, you will play a crucial role in assisting licensed occupational therapists in providing high-quality therapy services to individuals with various physical challenges. In this role, you will work closely with residents to help them achieve their goals, promote independence, and facilitate recovery. Responsibilities:

Assist occupational therapists in implementing treatment plans and therapy sessions.

• Perform therapeutic exercises and activities as prescribed by the occupational therapist.
• Monitor residents progress and document improvements and concerns accurately.
• Educate residents and their families about therapeutic techniques and exercises they can perform at home.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions to encourage socialization and peer support among clients.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to health and safety protocols.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the planning and evaluation of therapy programs.

• Valid COTA certification and state licensure.
• Strong knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Demonstrated empathy and patience in dealing with clients of diverse backgrounds.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Willingness to engage in continuous professional development and training.
