Possession of a high school diploma or GED; OR</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">2. One year of experience in any field; OR</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">3. This position provides second-line supervision to a Corrections Lieutenant and leads all Master Sergeants, Corrections Sergeants, and Cadets assigned to A, B, C, or D Team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to upholding institutional policies and ensuring the safety of staff, offenders, and the public.</p><div style="font-style: normal"><p>• Meet daily with the Shift Supervisor to review operational needs, security concerns, staff assignments, and institutional priorities. Ensure the Roll Call Training Topic is prepared and effectively delivered at each roll call.</p><p>• Provide direct supervision and guidance to the Corrections Lieutenant. In coordination with the Unit Manager and Colonel, conduct staff meetings to address security operations, problem areas, new directives, policy updates, staff morale, inmate morale, and any matters impacting the overall function of the unit.</p><p>• Communicate all relevant and significant information to the Major, Colonel, and Unit Manager in a timely and accurate manner.</p><p>• Remain on the assigned post until properly relieved, ensuring constant oversight and continuation of security operations.</p><p>• Properly transfer all equipment, updates, and essential information to the relieving Captain during shift change.</p><p>• Meet periodically with the Shift Major and Lieutenants to discuss operational management issues, emerging concerns, and teamwork strategies.
