Opportunity to join the Electrical EDS Wiring team as a Core Buyer. Core Buyer position is responsible for strategy development, and implementation in one of the largest, most dynamic commodities within Ford! North America EDS wiring has an annual spend of over $2.6b. Core Buyer will work closely with TII components, operations, and cost estimating teams to optimize price model to deliver best cost J1. Core Buyer position will work in close coordination with core team, PD, and STA to optimize supply base through market share management and disruptive supplier studies. Core Buyer position will also be responsible to manage sourcing programs from MR->CPA, delivering YoY TVM through gap closure negotiations, as well as identifying cost opportunities through price model vs. current cost analysis.

 

What you'll do...

  • Lead buyer to source supplier on new and variance programs from pre-MR-→ Verified Sourcing Contracts (target management, developing and optimizing sourcing strategy through design competition/market test or pre-source) 
  • Lead in supplier management/development 
  • Responsible for TVM delivery through gap closure and reconciliation of cost to price model 
  • Responsible to assure supplier is delivering price model consistent with aligned program targets  
  • Support Program/PD/STA in launch issues 
  • Support STA to assure suppliers are meeting Ford quality, delivery standards 
  • Identifying opportunities to expand EDS DEI

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills needed 
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment 
  • Ability to develop and implement commodity strategy 
  • Ability to leverage cross-functional skill teams and build networks 
  • Data analysis skills required 
  • Strong communication skills required
