Position Summary
The job responsibilities for this position will include, but will not be limited to logistical and creative support to the EVP, Acquisitions, Production & Business Affairs of Sony Pictures Classics as well as the entire Acquisitions/Production department. The position will cover and assess dozens if not hundreds of projects at various stages of development and production each year and will be a direct support to the Acquisitions & Production Research Analyst as well as Manager, Acquisitions.

This role will report to the EVP, Acquisitions, Production & Business Affairs
Core Responsibilities
- Arranges meetings and calls for the EVP, Acquisitions, Production & Business Affairs as well as keeps a general weekly schedule on behalf of the entire Acquisitions Department
- Interfaces with Sony Pictures Travel Department on behalf of the EVP to arrange for business travel to domestic and international film festivals, markets and events
- Keeps track of expenses on behalf of the EVP and processes and files electronic expense reports for business related travel and local business activities
- Oversees the scheduling and maintains an evolving schedule for the EVP as well as other senior executives of the company for meetings and screenings attending festivals and markets
- Arranges DCP screenings in the office and locally for the SPC Acquisitions team
- Interfaces with SPC Marketing, Sales & Operations departments on an as needed basis for scheduling and miscellaneous inter-departmental logistics
- Takes delivery of all project submissions at varying stages (scripts, works-in-progress, finished films), logs and organizes them and on a weekly basis using the company’s Airtable database, oversees meetings to disseminate said projects to various executives in the department and the company, as well as keeps track of those projects on which the company has passed versus those still in consideration
- Maintains Google Docs for the EVP and Co-Presidents with up to date scripts, films and other materials that need to be covered and discussed within the department
- Researches background on select submitted projects to assist the process of consideration for acquisitions
- Reads scripts, watches finished films and works-in-progress and provides verbal and written coverage of projects to the Acquisitions Team to assist in the process of material evaluation
- Works with the Acquisitions & Production Research Analyst to track competitor theatrical releases and maintain an updated chart of VOD related activity of Day / Date driven companies along with VOD data obtained from traditional distribution companies

- Has the confidence to articulate thoughtful opinions about projects while remaining open to alternative perspectives and eager to learn the nuances of the business.
- Possesses strong computer skills across both PC and Mac platforms, as well as a solid understanding of social media and the broader digital landscape.
- Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
