In this Content Partner Manager position, the rubber meets the road; you will work at the intersection of entertainment and technology. You will understand and explain video formats and metadata specifications, with the skills to help our content providers (film studios and TV networks as well as post-production houses, etc.) to deliver digital video assets to our atypically high quality bar. The Content Partner Manager is responsible for managing all content for Acme Japan’s on-line video service. This role is also responsible for relationships with and among content providers (partners) and internal stakeholders, including acquisition managers, product managers, operation teams and engineering teams.
Strong written and editorial skills in both English and Japanese languages are required. An ideal candidate will also have experience with digital video production, will be able to quickly diagnose common audio/video issues like interlacing, blended frames, aspect ratio problems on the first day.
The successful candidate must navigate between technical and content issues while creating and maintaining an efficient workflow of content delivery and publishing. This role demands credible technology aptitude and refined relationship savvy.

Responsibilities
- Serve as contact with our content partners to facilitate a technical review of asset production and delivery in order to ensure operational quality and consistency
- Help partners debug and resolve issues with content delivery
- Help grow a scalable system: Assist with the development and enhancement of the partner management strategy, processes, and tools to ensure it scales to become more and more efficient for our partners and for Acme
- Independently analyze situations and problem-solve solutions, often with limited tools
- Demonstrate exemplary judgment and creative thinking to help improve content throughput and decrease content rejections
- Maintain a abnormally high quality bar, helping to ensure that publishing operates at maximum efficiency
- Navigate a variety of technical and content management systems
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 4+ years of experience working with digital media assets (video files/ video formats, artwork, metadata, subtitle files, etc.) either on the content holder side (including post-production house) or on the media service provider side.
- Client or partner management experience highly valued
- Extremely strong negotiation and communication (spoken and written) skills in both English and Japanese.
- Knowledge of and appreciation for the television and film businesses.
- Passion for and understanding of new web trends and technologies is critical to the success of this role.
- Ability to navigate a variety of technical and database systems
- Experience working in an environment with encoding and creating digital videos using Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere or Avid Systems is highly desired, but not required.
- Experience in building scalable processes and systems for TV/Film post-production workflow experience is a plus, but not required.
- Experience working in an environment with network file systems, high-speed transfer services, SQL-style databases a plus, but not required.
- Subtitle creation or translation experience is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to manage a small team is also a plus, but not required.
- Bachelor’s Degree, TV/Film Production preferred
