This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated clinician who is passionate about delivering high-quality paediatric and neonatal care while making a meaningful impact in rural and remote communities.

This role is ideal for a paediatrician who thrives on variety, values autonomy, and enjoys the challenge and reward of practising in a diverse regional environment.

The Opportunity

Working as part of a supportive and collegial paediatric team, you will provide specialist care across inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and neonatal settings. You will also deliver outreach services to surrounding regional and remote communities—ensuring equitable access to paediatric healthcare for families who need it most.

This position offers an excellent balance of clinical leadership, teaching, acute care exposure, and community-focused practice.

Key Responsibilities

✔ Deliver high-quality care to paediatric and neonatal patients
✔ Participate in on-call roster, providing acute and emergency support
✔ Lead and mentor junior doctors and contribute to their professional development
✔ Support service improvement, governance, and clinical innovation
✔ Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across the region
✔ Provide outreach clinics to surrounding regional and remote communities
✔ Uphold culturally safe, equitable care for Aboriginal children and families

About You

You are a consultant paediatrician who brings:

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Paediatrics, or equivalent
  • AHPRA Specialist Registration (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Strong expertise in acute and chronic paediatric medicine
  • Experience and interest in neonatal care, developmental paediatrics, and community health
  • A supportive leadership style with a passion for teaching, supervising and mentoring junior doctors
  • Resilience, adaptability, and confidence in managing complex or remote-care scenarios
  • A commitment to improving health outcomes for First Nations children
  • Enthusiasm for regional practice and the lifestyle benefits it offers

Why Choose Regional Western Australia?

This role is based in a vibrant regional centre surrounded by striking landscapes, wide-open spaces, and a strong sense of community. Enjoy:

  • A relaxed lifestyle with affordable living
  • Outdoor adventures, national parks, lakes, and unique natural attractions
  • A friendly, multicultural community
  • Meaningful connections with families and local health teams
  • Work that genuinely impacts underserved populations

This is an opportunity to practise true general paediatrics with real variety, continuity of care, and professional satisfaction.
