Job description

Join Us at a Defining Moment

At Intelligen, we’re building something different. Over the past three years, we’ve evolved from a bold startup to a trusted partner for some of Australia’s most complex data transformations. As demand for modern data engineering accelerates, we’re expanding our consulting team with hands-on technical talent who can help clients uplift and modernise their data platforms at speed.

We’re now embarking on a major engagement with a key enterprise client and are looking for experienced dbt /Snowflake data engineers who can re-engineer, optimise, and domain-align existing data models and pipelines.

If you thrive in delivery-focused environments, enjoy solving complex data challenges, and want to shape how modern data engineering is done across Melbourne, we’d love to meet you.

About the Role

You’ll be part of an integrated Intelligen consulting team, working closely with our architects, senior consultants, and client-side technical stakeholders. This role is ideal for engineers who are hands-on, delivery-driven, and comfortable working in fast-moving, iterative project environments.

What you'll do

  • Solid Snowflake experience, including schema design, performance tuning, and warehousing best practices.
  • Contribute to solution design, technical decisions, and modelling best practices
  • Work closely with client data teams to ensure maintainability, performance, and clarity of lineage.
  • Support CI/CD, testing, and documentation of all aspects of data engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with the broader Intelligen consulting practice as part of a multi-resource delivery team.
  • Contribute to ongoing consulting engagements beyond the initial project as part of our integrated consulting pool.

Requirements

  • 4-6+ years’ experience in data engineering.
  • Strong, hands-on ETL expertise
  • Solid Snowflake experience, including schema design, performance tuning, and warehousing best practices.
  • Experience with SQL transformation work, with dimensional or domain data modelling and modern data stack tooling a plus.
  • Experience working to documentation standards.
  • Experience working with client data teams.
  • Consulting experience is a plus but not required.
  • Eligible to work in Australia.

Must have(s)

  • Strong, practical Snowflake engineering experience (the strongest requirement)
  • Ability to deliver independently within a structured consulting engagement.

Benefits

Why Intelligen?

We're not just delivering AI and data projects. We're humanising them. That means we care deeply about the how, not just the what. We value curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to challenge the status quo. We look for people who are driven to build a business, get curious, and contribute ideas that shape our future.

As well as:

  • Work From Home - Flexible hours
  • Training & Development
  • Free Food & Snacks in the office
  • Multiple socials and community groups
  • Opportunity to drive projects that are of interest to you!

You’ll work with a team that’s smart, kind, and ambitious. You’ll have real influence in your projects, your practice, and our business. And as we grow, so will you!
