The Configuration Manager provides technical, managerial, and administrative oversight of the configuration baseline for Air Force Financial Management (FM) systems. This role ensures disciplined configuration management practices across infrastructure, middleware, database, and application layers, and supports the sustainment, optimization, and performance validation of the FMWorkFlow (FMWF) system. The Configuration Manager works closely with engineering, cybersecurity, system administration, and program management personnel to ensure configuration integrity and compliance with Air Force directives and sustainment processes.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

The ability to obtain, maintain and access classified information at the Top Secret level. 
 

Must support Air Force patch and sustainment directives (IAVA, TCNO, NOTAM) when configuration impacts require validation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Maintain and govern the technical configuration baseline for client systems, ensuring alignment with approved engineering changes
  • Lead configuration identification, change control, auditing, and status accounting across application, middleware, database, and infrastructure components.
  • Oversee engineering change documentation and participate in configuration and readiness reviews
  • Support patch engineering and vulnerability remediation validation by ensuring configuration consistency when implementing IAVA, TCNO, or NOTAM directives.
  • Manage configuration documentation governance, including system diagrams, version records, and sustainment artifacts.
  • Ensure consistent configuration across development, test, and production environments and support patch validation and test configuration control
  • Collaborate with system administrators, software engineers, database engineers, and cybersecurity staff to maintain technical integrity throughout system changes.
  • Identify opportunities for configuration optimization and system improvement based on engineering analysis and sustainment feedback.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Bachelor s degree (BS/BA) from a four-year college or university is preferred and/or minimum of five (5) years experience.
