Computer Engineer

SECRET clearance required

Location: Newport, RI or San Diego, CA

PROSOFT requires the services of a Computer Engineer experienced in hardware and software design/maintenance in U.S. Navy submarine environments in both shipboard and lab configurations. Candidates shall be experienced in performing the final milestone of the network system build process in accordance with the Build Verification Test (BVT) procedures included within government-approved load plans and procedures. The Computer Engineer shall deliver the complete software load in accordance with applicable requirements and verify each system build for functionality. A strong foundation is required in system administration, operating systems, and technical troubleshooting, and have experience in both Linux and MS Windows environments. Familiarity with the NUWC CANES laboratory environment is desired.

A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in computer design, software development or computer networks is required.

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, or Mathematics is required. A master's degree in computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, or Mathematics can be substituted for 2 years' experience.
