Compounding Operator - 2nd ShiftSummary:
To safely and efficiently perform cold mixing and milling utilizing multiple mechanical equipment to mix and mill high consistency silicone rubber to desired customer specifications.Responsibilities Include:
**This 2nd Shift position will start at $22.80 + $2.00 shift premium pay with Increases at 90 days, 6 months and 1 year**
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensure that all safety equipment is readily available and that all guards are in place.
- Refer to batch cards for proper amounts, temperature controls, weights and sequences of additions of raw materials and any other additional instructions, per procedure.
- To operate multiple types of mixers, mills and extruders and other related equipment when required.
- As directed, carry out any other tasks of equal or less difficulty.
- Maintain work area in clean and orderly manner, drive Lean 5S Initiative throughout the facility with emphasis during shift transition.
- Ability to work independently and multi-task.
- Must be able to work irregular shifts and overtime to cover production demand as required.
- Must be qualified to wear a respirator.
Non-Essential Functions:
- To keep online production records on every batch mixed.
- To receive and relay vital verbal communications with co-workers concerning daily production strategies.
- To become knowledgeable of basic customer requirements and the equipment and materials used in mixing and milling.
Qualifications:
The following are required for the role
- Perform arithmetic operations quickly, accurately, and possess eye-hand motor coordination.
- Basic writing skills are required in the completion of daily production records.
- Basic verbal communication skills are required to transfer or interpret the explanation of problems and to receive and understand work assignments.
- Must be able to read and understand written instructions.
- Must be able to stand for a 8.5-hour shift.
- Must be able to read, understand, and speak English
- Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background and pre-employment drug test that includes marijuana.
