Required Degree:  PhD in a humanistic field with evidence of interdisciplinary training or scholarly/teaching interests.

The required degree must be completed by the start date.

Experience: Candidates must demonstrate training or scholarly/teaching interests in Art History and/or Visual Culture Studies.  Evidence of an active research and publishing profile is expected.

Duties/Expectations: 

Teach General Education and program courses in one or more of our sections: Art History, Interdisciplinary Humanities, and Comparative Literature.

•  As a professorial position, this ten-month annual contract expects the following:
  • Teaching load of 6 courses with a typical teaching assignment of 2 or 3 courses fall semester, 2 or 3 courses winter semester, and 1 course spring or summer term.
  • Maintain an active research and publishing profile
  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate research.
  • Participate in faculty meetings and other academic discussions.  
• Support the mission of Brigham Young University.
• Support student faith through obvious commitment to the religious expectations of the sponsoring institution, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

This position requires the successful candidate to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment.
