Hato Hone St John has been serving New Zealanders since 1885. Today, we have nearly 12,000 kaimahi working across Aotearoa to enhance the health and wellbeing of our communities. From responding to 111 calls to supporting people to stay healthy through health education, access and monitoring, we make a life-changing difference every day. 

He aha te tūranga - About the role:

We are looking for dedicated volunteers to support the Hato Hone St John Hawke's Bay Area Committee.

As a Community Engagement Support Volunteer, you will:

  • Support local community health and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Represent Hato Hone St John at community events.
  • Help promote and support Hato Hone St John volunteers across the region.

No prior experience is required. We're looking for people who are passionate about their community and willing to make a positive contribution. You'll receive ongoing support and guidance from our Community Engagement team, ensuring you have everything you need to thrive in this rewarding role.

We're looking for people who:

  • Are passionate about the health and wellbeing of local communities and interested in how Hato Hone St John can make a positive difference.
  • Understand, or are open to learning about, equity for Māori and are committed to developing their cultural competence.
  • Think creatively, work collaboratively, and build positive relationships both within and outside the organisation.
  • Have a genuine desire to support their local community and promote Hato Hone St John initiatives.

Community Engagement Support Volunteers must be aged 18 years or older and either reside within the Hawke's Bay region or have a strong connection to the area.
