Job description

Temporary position for 12 months

As a Communications Strategist in the Marketing Planning, Integration and Implementation / Property and Casualty Insurance team, you will lead the development and delivery of strategic marketing communication plans which support business partners specific to defined lines of business. Your deep understanding of the B2B2C needs of your clients in The Personal Insurance Company (TPIC) / La Personnelle (LP); the affinity marketplace; and subject matter expertise of the Desjardins personal and commercial lines products and service offerings, will help you to develop and deliver a successfully managed annual marketing plan. You will make recommendations on the planning and execution of complex marketing communications projects and initiatives. Coordination and communication are critical, as you frequently interact with stakeholders working in your own team and those in other functional areas.

  • You will regularly review and assess marketing performance and make strategic or tactical updates to the plan to ensure outcomes align with business objectives. Your decisions will have an impact on relationships with external clients therefore, interpersonal savvy is essential. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Develop & deliver strategic marketing plans for Branded / Hybrid groups (Major accounts for LP and TPIC) covering both Personal and Commercial lines products and offers

  • Build close working relationship with the Account Manager to understand group specificities, objectives, and performance and relay these priorities internally within marketing

  • Participate in Partner’s meetings (End-of-year performance review and recommendations, and annual visibility plan) Help Account Manager prepare for renewal, and may be asked to support specific events as needed

  • Work in Collaboration with Network Strategists, holding a shared vision on business priorities, Marketing Return on Investment (MROI), performance at a group level and act in an advisory capacity to the line of business and for partners 

  • Advise your clients and partners to help them position, plan, develop, deliver and monitor marketing projects and initiatives to help maximize the sector’s profitability and business development

  • Identify, analyze and diagnose significant issues and make recommendations to decision-making bodies

  • Collaborate, influence, and build trust with diverse stakeholders: marketing team members, subject matter experts, front-line team members, senior decision-makers, and others as required

  • Guide Marketing partners in their development and execution of marketing communications deliverables – providing strategic recommendations and marketing solutions as needed.

  • Keep abreast of key trends in brand marketing, sponsorships, digital marketing and consumer behavior

  • Represent Desjardins when making agreements with external partners and organizations

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline

  • A minimum of seven years of relevant experience

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Advanced proficiency in English due to the nature  of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English -speaking partners, members and/or clients in the TPIC side
