About the role (your why)

This role is about collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams such as Customer, Legal, Service Lines, Product and Finance, you will participate in the creation, review and finalisation of consistent, clear contracts and work in concert with effective governance.

This hands-on, role suits a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to shape commercial outcomes.

You will balance business objectives with risk and compliance, contribute to negotiations, and structure terms that protect value while enabling growth.

In this role you will  

  • Support the business in their customer and supplier engagements through offering insightful, timely and accurate advice,
  • Be an active part of a core legal and commercial team with expertise in technology contracts and engagements,
  • Assess legal and commercial risks in relation to the business activities of Datacom and working closely with the business in terms of legal support required,
  • Reviewing technology contracts for legal and commercial risks such as, outsourcing agreements, services engagements, software licensing and more,
  • Draft clear, concise, and enforceable contractual documentation, and ensure consistency across contractual documents,
  • Help translate business and operational requirements into contractual terms, outcomes and obligations,
  • Reviewing and approving documents for protection of the company's contractual posture and adherence to company policy,
  • Advising management of contractual rights and obligations and provides interpretation of terms and conditions.

What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years of Post Qualification Experience
  • Deep domain knowledge of technology contracts (particularly services / outsourcing engagements, software licensing and development, and SI engagements)
  • Strong commercial acumen, and stakeholder management
  • Proven experience working with contracts that are complex and encompass the following areas of Risk:
    • Legal Risk: Enforceability issues, Regulatory risks, Litigation exposure
    • Commercial Risk: Revenue exposure, Margin erosion, obligation management
    • Operational Risk: Deliver assurance, Demanding SLAs, Effort and Cost balancing
    • Reputational Risk: Customer impacts, Sector sensitivity, Brand implications
  • Strong drafting skills to manage domains such as Privacy and Data Protection, Intellectual Property, liabilities, warranties and indemnities, Termination rights,
  • Strong ability to analyse both legal and commercial risks in technology contracts,
  • Exceptional, demonstrated experience in clearly explaining legal concepts to business stakeholders.
