Job Description:

  • Manages regulatory surveys related to complaints against AdventHealth and Risk Management Program Surveys.

  • Monitors, analyzes, and reports aggregated event report data to hospital leaders, focusing on risk exposures for trends or patterns.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Serves as a resource to hospital administration, employees, and physicians on Risk Management, legal, and ethical issues, including off-hour and holiday coverage as needed.

  • Integrates the risk management program with the quality and safety activities of the assigned areas.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, critical-thinking, oral and written communication skills [Required]
  • Understanding of medical terminology and technology, medical procedures/treatments, their usual risks, and expected outcomes [Required]
  • Understanding of conflict resolution [Required]
  • Basic knowledge of federal legislation and state statutes relevant to Risk Management and patient safety activities [Required]
  • Ability to prioritize a diverse workload and possess the ability to work under pressure and deadlines [Required]


Education:

  • Bachelor's [Required]


Field of Study:

  • In health care related field


Work Experience:

  • 3+ registered nurse, advanced registered nurse practitioner, respiratory therapist, occupational therapist, physical therapist, speech pathologist, radiology technologist, ultrasound technician, physician assistant, paramedic, pharmacist, and three to five years clinical experience in a healthcare-related field or [Required]
  • 3+ risk management or claims field [Required]
  • Claims management/litigation prevention and healthcare risk management process [Preferred]
  • Experience in process improvement/patient safety/clinical risk management/quality activities [Required]


Licenses and Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) [Required] OR 
  • Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNPC) [Required] OR 
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) [Required] OR
  • Occupational Therapist (OT) [Required] OR 
  • Physical Therapist (PT) [Required] OR
  • Physician Assistant (PA) [Required] OR
  • Licensed Paramedic (PARA) [Required] OR
  • Licensed Pharmacist (RPH) [Required] OR 
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) [Required]

Pay Range:

$66,170.74 - $123,073.07
