Clinical Educator

• Part-time, fixed-term contract (14 hours per week) for 1 year

• Base salary (pro-rata to 0.4 FTE) $108,557 to $111,795 + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

Headspace at the Brain & Mind Centre, has an opportunity for a Clinical Educator (Clinical Psychologist) to join their diverse and fun-loving team!

In this role, you will supervise headspace clinical students on placement and provide psychological assessment and treatment to young people with emerging or mild to moderate mental disorders.

You will be supervising a team of four clinical psychology students who provide psychological assessment and treatment to young people with mental disorders under the headspace model.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• provide individual and group clinical supervision for clinical psychology, social work, and occupational therapy students

• deliver psychological assessment and evidence-based psychological therapy for young people (12-25) with emerging or established mental disorders

• ensure clinical students are well supported and meet placement learning objectives

• maintain accurate and timely case notes and records inputting data required

• complete placement forms for supervision contracts, mid-placement, and end of placement reviews

• adhere to headspace Camperdown Clinical Governance Framework, policies and procedures

• contribute to awareness activities promoting the health and wellbeing of young people

Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to work on-site for the hours scheduled as this is a very collaborative position and team.

About you

• post-graduate qualification in Clinical Psychology

• endorsement as a Psychology Board of Australia approved supervisor for clinical psychology students

• registration with AHPRA and endorsement as a clinical psychologist

• experience supervising clinical psychology students and other allied health placement students

• strong working knowledge in psychological assessment and intervention services for young people aged 12-25 years who have mental health, alcohol, and other drug problems

• ability to consult, liaise and negotiate with young people, family/carers, workers and other agencies

• experience working in a multidisciplinary team and constructive working relationships with young people

• a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain one.
