What You'll Do

As our Clinical Dietitian, you will serve as the nutrition expert for bariatric and medical weight management patients by:

  • Conducting comprehensive nutrition assessments and evaluations
  • Developing personalized nutrition care plans tailored to each patient's unique needs
  • Providing one-on-one counseling and support before and after bariatric surgery
  • Leading bariatric nutrition classes and group education sessions
  • Educating patients on healthy meal planning, lifestyle modifications, supplementation requirements, and long-term dietary success
  • Monitoring patient progress and helping patients overcome barriers to achieving their goals
  • Collaborating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
  • Documenting and managing nutrition interventions according to established standards of care
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and program development activities
  • Creating and updating patient education materials and resources
  • Supporting and mentoring new clinical nutrition staff as a preceptor

What We're Looking For

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field

Required Licensure & Certification

  • Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (or obtained within the orientation period)
  • Licensed through the Louisiana Board of Examiners in Dietetics and Nutrition

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in bariatric surgery, weight management, or clinical nutrition
  • A passion for patient education and behavior change
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills

  • Excellent communication and counseling skills
  • Strong interpersonal abilities and a patient-first mindset
  • The ability to motivate and inspire patients throughout their health journey
  • Exceptional organizational and documentation skills
  • A commitment to evidence-based nutrition care and continuous learning

Highly preferred experience in Bariatric services, with a strong preference for candidates who have experience leading surgical programs and ambulatory clinics. Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating high volume surgical workflows, and overseeing program growth and operational performance would be highly desirable.
