Cinematic Artist

Requisition ID:

R026937

Job Description:

Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a Cinematic Artist to join the development of a new IP.

Feed your creativity while collaborating with our team of highly-skilled developers to build something innovative, exhilarating, and expansively entertaining!

As a member of the Cinematics department, you’ll help create high-quality, in-engine narrative sequences for an upcoming title. In this role, you’ll collaborate across disciplines to craft emotionally engaging cinematic moments that integrate seamlessly with gameplay. Working closely with the Cinematic Director, Narrative, Engineering, and Art teams, you’ll translate story beats into compelling real-time sequences that balance visual storytelling with technical performance. If you enjoy shaping character-driven moments and bringing stories to life inside a game engine, this role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the player experience.

As a member of the project, you’ll help take the studio and our game from great to even better; with a focus on inclusivity, mutual respect (for ourselves and our players), thoughtfulness, empathy, professionalism, and collaboration.

You’ll help us by...

  • Creating and implementing real-time cinematic sequences in-engine.

  • Collaborating with the Cinematic Director and Narrative team to translate scripts and story beats into compelling visual storytelling.

  • Editing scenes with a strong sense of pacing, rhythm, and emotional impact.

  • Blocking, staging, and refining shots to maintain a consistent cinematic style.

  • Setting up cameras and composition to ensure narrative clarity and high visual impact.

  • Maintaining cinematic assets within sequences to ensure stable, reliable real-time performance.

  • Monitoring performance and optimization considerations across scenes.

  • Supporting the integration of branching dialogue and interactive elements.

  • Partnering with Engineering and Tech Art to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges.

  • Ensuring continuity and smooth transitions between cinematics, conversations, and gameplay.

  • Participating in reviews, iterating on feedback, and refining your work collaboratively.

You’re awesome because you have…

  • Demonstrated professional experience creating cinematics for games or other real-time projects.

  • Confidence working in game engines such as Unreal Engine, including Sequencer, basic Blueprint knowledge, and cinematic tools.

  • A strong understanding of cinematic fundamentals, including framing, pacing, editing, and continuity.

  • Professional experience working with motion capture pipelines.

  • The ability to balance creative ambition with technical constraints.

Bonus points for...

  • Experience working with physical cameras (photography, video, or cinema)

  • Familiarity with lighting workflows in real-time engines

  • Understanding of performance capture pipelines

  • Experience contributing to a shipped title is a plus.

Please include a portfolio to showcase your work as part of your application.

Not sure you meet all the qualifications? Let us decide! Research shows that women and members of other under-represented groups tend to not apply to jobs when they think they may not meet every qualification, when, in fact, they often do!
