Job Description

- Regional Commercial Input Development & Integration
- Responsible for leveraging China-specific commercial insights to inform data-driven global product strategies across assigned programs (typically 3–5 priority assets/indications)
- Establish and evolve best-in-class frameworks and processes for incorporating regional perspectives across development stages (early through Phase 3)
- Synthesizes insights from market research, competitive intelligence, and local affiliate input to support incorporation of China perspectives into global asset strategy, TPP, and commercialization planning
- Serve as a key strategic advisor to global program teams and senior leadership, preparing clear, evidence-based deliverables to support decision-making in governance forums
- Market Landscape & Competitive Intelligence
- Leverages detailed assessment of China-specific disease landscapes, translating insights into implications for portfolio prioritization and investment decisions including:
- Current standard of care and treatment paradigms
- Patient journey and segmentation
- Develops and maintains comprehensive competitive intelligence for assigned indications, including:
- Approved products and in-line competitors
- China-specific and global pipeline activity
- Monitors, anticipates, and interprets external market shifts (regulatory, reimbursement, policy), proactively advising global teams on risks, opportunities, and strategic trade-offs
- Position self as a subject-matter expert on China market dynamics, influencing cross-asset and cross-portfolio decisions
- Market Research Execution
- Designs and executes secondary market research to support indication assessments, forecasting assumptions, and strategic planning
- Supports and selectively leads insight generation work (e.g., KOL interviews, advisory boards) in alignment with program priorities
- Synthesize complex and ambiguous data into actionable insights that directly influence asset strategy, investment prioritization, and lifecycle planning
- Forecasting & Commercial Analytics
- Develops and refines China-specific forecast assumptions, including:
- Epidemiology and addressable patient populations
- Treatment adoption and share dynamics
- Pricing, access, and reimbursement considerations
- Act as a thought partner to senior stakeholders (commercial, finance, access) in shaping forecast assumptions and implications
- Ensure alignment of China forecasts with global financial and portfolio planning, influencing investment trade-offs and prioritization
- Go-To-Market Planning & Resource Benchmarking
- Lead development of early China go-to-market strategies for assigned programs, aligned with global guidance
- Conducts benchmarking and analysis of:
- Commercial models and launch archetypes
- Field force sizing, infrastructure, and investment levels
- Provides analytical support for resource planning and OpEx projections for China launch readiness
- Influence portfolio-level decisions on resource allocation and commercialization approach
- Risk Identification & Issue Escalation
- Proactively identifies key risks and uncertainties impacting assigned programs (e.g., competitive threats, access barriers, regulatory considerations)
- Lead development of mitigation strategies and influence decision-making through structured risk assessments and scenario modeling
- Elevate critical issues to senior leadership with clear, strategic recommendations and decision pathways
- Supports tracking and resolution of program-level risks in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serves as a key working-level partner to China affiliate teams to ensure local insights are appropriately reflected in global planning
- Influence and align senior cross-functional stakeholders (NPP, clinical, medical, access, finance) to align on assumptions and insights
- Supports preparation of materials for senior leadership engagement and governance interactions
- At times, represent the function in global forums, governance bodies, and senior leadership discussions
- Contribution to Commercial Excellence & Knowledge Building
- Lead development and refinement of tools, templates, benchmarks, and best practices for regional new product planning
- Drive consistency and quality of analytical approaches and outputs across assigned programs
- Shares learnings and insights to strengthen broader team capabilities, advancing the organization’s commercial excellence agenda
