Primary duties include processing returned checks, researching and resolving suspense accounts, applying lump-sum payments, managing daily financial emails, responding to phone inquiries from custodial and noncustodial parents, employers, and partner agencies, and performing a variety of other financial transactions requiring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with federal and state regulations.<br><br><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">If you're driven, collaborative, and ready to make an impact—this could be the opportunity for you!</span><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Five years of experience in child support enforcement; OR</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years of experience in child support enforcement; OR</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">A bachelor’s degree plus two years of experience in child support enforcement; OR</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">A master’s degree plus one year of experience in child support enforcement.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.</span><div>The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found <a href="https://apps01.civilservice.louisiana.gov/onestopjobinfo/DisplayJobSpec.aspx?JobCode=172990" target="_blank"><u>here</u></a>.</div><u style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Job Duties</u><ul style="padding-left: 2rem; margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 3pt; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><li>Investigates and responds to CSE & DA staff regarding complaints of lost or missing checks.</li><li>Receives Journal Entry requests via CAFÉ from field staff to process payments in suspense or posting errors.</li><li>Provides state office and field staff with expert advice and resolutions on complex matters including distribution of misposted payments, suspense money, distribution hierarchy, financial audits, and recovery of erroneous funds.</li><li>Review and respond to lump sum emails received by employers via the Lump Sum group email. </li><li>Updated notices are sent to the non-custodial parents' employer with current arrears balance.</li><li>May assist in requesting check pulls</li></ul><undefined><br></undefined><div style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><u>Position-Specific Details:</u><br><strong style="font-weight: 700">Appointment Type: </strong><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"> <strong style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: rgba(149, 35, 8, 1)">This position is open to current permanent Department of Children and Family Services employees ONLY. </span></strong><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months.</span></span></div><p style="margin: 0; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><strong style="font-weight: 700"><span style="color: inherit">Work Schedule:</span></strong><span style="color: inherit"> Typically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for.
