Job Summary
Lead Surge is a remote company. However, this role is hybrid and will be expected to travel to our Easton, MA office periodically. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief of Staff serves as a strategic partner and the primary liaison between the CEO and the agency’s leadership team. This role is responsible for translating the CEO’s vision into actionable results by directly managing the administrative and operational needs of the agency’s leadership team.
The Chief of Staff focuses on organizational alignment, ensuring that departmental leaders have the clarity and resources needed to execute the CEO's directives. This role ensures the agency’s internal infrastructure remains high-performing, allowing the CEO and VP to focus on long-term strategy and growth.
Duties/Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Directly manage four of the agency’s senior leadership team, including the Creative Director, Director, Analytics, Sr. Technology and Operations Lead and Technical Product Owner.

  • Act as the primary translator of CEO directives, ensuring the leadership team has clear direction from the CEO and that the CEO has what they need from them, on time, with sufficient context
  • Handle the people administrative tasks for four agency leaders, including performance management, coaching and development, setting goals and the administrative approval of schedules and requests
  • Orchestrate cross-functional collaboration between departments to remove organizational silos and ensure workflows are aligned across the agency
  • Set and monitor clear performance metrics for each direct report, ensuring that departmental outputs meet quality standards and timelines
  • Lead the resolution of operational roadblocks and conflict among the leadership tier to maintain a collaborative, high-performing culture
  • Partner with the CEO and VP to prepare for leadership meetings, ensuring all department heads are prepared and aligned on the agenda
  • Maintain accurate documentation of executive decisions and follow up on action items across all departments to ensure full implementation

  • Strategic Translation: Ability to synthesize abstract vision from ownership into concrete, measurable work streams for specialized department heads
  • Executive Diplomacy: Expert-level interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate complex internal politics and build consensus among high-level stakeholders
  • Organizational EQ: A high degree of emotional intelligence to coach Directors, work with Director, HR to mediate conflicts, and maintain morale within the leadership tier
  • Systems Thinking: Ability to see the "big picture" of the agency and understand how a change in one department cascades through the company
  • High-Stakes Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of speaking with the authority of the CEO while maintaining approachable leadership
  • Decisive Prioritization: Advanced ability to distinguish between "urgent" and "important" tasks, shielding the CEO and VP from operational noise
  • Discretion & Integrity: Proven experience handling highly sensitive financial, personnel, and strategic information with absolute confidentiality
  • Agility & Resilience: The ability to remain grounded and effective in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment where priorities can shift rapidly

Required (and/or) Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, or a related field required, MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7-10+ years of experience in agency leadership or a senior management role
  • Proven track record of managing a multi-disciplinary team of Directors or department heads
  • Experience managing or closely partnering with cross-disciplinary teams spanning creative, technical, and analytics functions; direct management of leaders in IT, data/analytics, or creative disciplines is strongly preferred

Work Environment

  • Remote Role. Employee will be expected to travel to Easton, MA office location occasionally for team meetings

The Pay Range For This Role Is
165,000 - 195,000 USD per year
